We have established a chain of free schools for the underprivileged. These schools cater to children coming from marginalized families, slums and unorganized migrant labour communities, with the aim of realizing their aspirations of studying in quality establishments. Apart from the focus on providing free instruction and improving the knowledge base of the students, these schools also promotes and emphasize on confidence building and personality grooming. The schools also provide hot, cooked meals and snacks during school hours. We also promote the concept of volunteerism and encourage engagement of community volunteers in the running of these schools.
The schools for the underprivileged have been built on the participatory model where we encourage employees, individuals and groups to sponsor the education of a child for a minimum period of one year. Full time teachers and a Principal are appointed to ensure quality of education. Free books, stationary and curriculum support is provided. 25 toppers from these schools are given admission to formal schools every year and 5 students are sent to public schools with full tuition fee and annual expense covered under the DLF Foundation Scholarship Programme. To further ensure quality education to students at all times, we have established partnerships for technical expertise. This project currently supports the education of 1,600 underprivileged children providing them access to modern education.
