DLF Foundation in partnership with India Water Partnership and INTACH is pleased to cordially invite you as our guest of Honor/Chief Guest / Keynote Speaker/ Panel Member to a Workshop on “Capacity Building workshop on Transforming Najafgarh Basin at DLF City Club, Phase IV, Gurugram on 17th August 2017.

The Purpose of the Workshop is to develop a multi-stakeholder approach for the rejuvenation of Najafgarh Jheel, augmenting strategies for self-purification of drains and controlling the situation of the flood in Gurugram during monsoon. The long-term vision would be to develop a road map for the development of inland waterways in the Najafgarh drain.

NJD is the backbone of the drainage network in Gurgaon. It flows through the north-western part of Gurgaon. Excessive flooding has occurred in parts of Gurgaon over the years due to overflow and backflow from drains during the monsoon season. For instance, a 24 hour jam was reported in parts of Gurgaon due to flooding in 2016. It is of importance to deal with the situation strategically and in a holistic manner to resolve this problem affecting masses in Gurugram.

Your esteemed presence at this event would motivate to collaborate and take further actions with multi-stakeholder approach to control the flooding and rejuvenate the Najafgarh drains. A tentative agenda for the event is attached herewith for your reference. Your participation would be highly appreciated.
