The programme started as part of an initiative to provide for 300 poor disabled at India Gate, New Delhi. It has now been extended to over 1,200 Children in last 3 months where fresh cooked meals are provided in DLF Shiksha Progressive Schools.
As part of DLF’s partnership with the Delhi Government’s Bhagidari programme – ‘Aapki Rasoi’, we are providing free mid-day meals to around 300 homeless disabled people at a temporary hutment site at the India Gate Lawns on Mansingh Road, New Delhi. The programme has been recently extended to Swapna Sarthak Schools run by us. Over 1,600 children, who were engaged in activities like rag picking, working on roadside dhabas or as domestic servants and never had the opportunity to attend schooling, now get a healthy cooked mid-day meal along with free education. In addition to providing a nutritious meal for at least one meal for these children, it provides a powerful incentive for them to continue their schooling and helps in maintaining high retention levels in our educational initiatives.
