Greening in Gurugram, Delhi and Hyderabad

Greening and Plantation are a vital part of our environmental sustainability efforts. DLF Foundation undertakes extensive plantation and greening initiatives in collaboration with government authorities as part of our commitment to environmental sustainability, while also addressing the challenges of shrinking urban green cover, rising pollution, and biodiversity loss in rapidly urbanising cities.

In Gurugram, several green belts alongside major public roads in Sectors 67/68, 73/74, 76/77, 83/84, 91/92, 93/94, and from AIT Chowk to Medawas have been adopted by DLF Foundation from the Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA). In Delhi, the adoption of a public greenbelt has commenced on Nelson Mandela Marg in partnership with the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) and the Public Works Department (PwD). In Hyderabad, DLF Foundation, in partnership with the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation, continues to maintain the already developed green belts from IIIT Junction to Raddison Junction and up to Jayabheri Enclave.

The work included extensive earthwork, plantation, watering, fencing, security, signage, and maintenance. The Programme adopts a long-term ecological approach by prioritising native species plantation, scientific horticulture practices, and resource-efficient maintenance systems to ensure sustained survival of green cover. Water conservation measures, including the use of recycled water and rainwater harvesting, are gradually being embedded to support responsible landscape management and reduce environmental stress in urban areas.

Collectively, these interventions contribute to environmental sustainability, climate resilience, public health, and improved quality of life in urban areas, in alignment with globally recognised frameworks for sustainable development and green growth.

Institutional partnerships with agencies such as GMDA, MCG, HSVP, and GHMC further strengthen long-term sustainability and stewardship of these spaces.

During the FY 24-25, a total area of 6,05,740 square metres was developed and maintained across various public green belts, featuring 16,33,934 Saplings planted fostering a greener future
