Education and Skill Development

DLF Foundation supported an Education and Skills Development initiative in rural areas around Tehri Garhwal in Uttarakhand, aimed at empowering economically disadvantaged women through livelihood training and community development. The project focused on promoting economic self-sufficiency, skill enhancement, and improved social status among women in rural communities. As part of the programme, a cowshed, milk processing and training rooms, and livelihood-based production activities were undertaken during the year. Additionally, equipment such as milking machines, bulk milk coolers, fogger systems, packing machines, chaff cutters, deep freezers, milk cans, storage units, and knitting and sewing machines were procured to support activities related to dairy farming, tailoring, knitting, and other income-generating work. Training modules focused on knitting, sewing, and dairy farming, providing participants with practical skills that fostered entrepreneurship and financial independence. The initiative supported vulnerable women, providing structured vocational skills and livelihood opportunities, thereby contributing to the overall economic resilience of rural communities.

Development of a Residential Training Centre for Women

DLF Foundation has partnered with Devi AhalyaBai Samarak Samiti (DASS) to construct a Residential Training Centre for Women (Mahila Koushalya Vikas Kendra) in Nagpur, Maharashtra. This initiative aims to empower women through skill development, education, and livelihood opportunities.

The project aims to create a residential training facility for women and adolescent girls from economically disadvantaged backgrounds, tribal communities, and migrant populations in Nagpur and nearby areas. Located on 2.93 acres, the Centre will provide a safe, inclusive and enabling environment for the holistic development of 300-400 women beneficiaries.

The Centre will empower nearly 500 to 1,000 women each year through structured training in skill development, digital literacy, vocational skills, entrepreneurship, personal safety, and life skills. The programme also encompasses livelihood generation, cultural education, and health awareness, helping participants build confidence, enhance employability, and attain sustainable livelihoods. During the year 2025-26, construction of the facility is ongoing and part construction was completed.
