In the face of ever-increasing urbanisation, DLF has always been sensitive to environmental concerns. It was our intention to give back as much, if not more, as was being taken through the rigorous development process. The landscaping and greening of the area around all development projects is indicative of our endeavours in this regard. A total of over 1.2 lakh trees were planted by DLF in Gurgaon itself. Out of these, 17,000 trees were planted and maintained by DLF Foundation at a cost of over Rs. 25 lakh. This was in addition to the 20,000 trees planted by DLF Arboriculture Department as part of its routine activities.
HUDA has awarded DLF with the “Excellence in Horticulture Preservation” award for seven consecutive years. Another 48 awards in various categories had been received by DLF from HUDA during this period for our efforts in the field of environment preservation.
A project of converting barren land into a green belt was initiated in the land adjoining Nathupur village. Upon its completion, the project was implemented across various other similar zones in Gurugram.
