The 29th National Road Safety Week 2018

DLF Undertook Public Outreach Initiative During The 29th National Road Safety Week 2018

DLF Foundation, in collaboration with AB InBev, undertook the task to form an organization for Safer Roads For Gurugram (SRFG). Under this initiative, a public awareness and education outreach program was carried out during Road Safety Week from 23 April to 30 April 2018 with operational support from the SRFG working group organisations – DLF Foundation, AB InBev and Ola Cabs, and implementation support from Safe Road Foundation, Indian Road Safety Campaign and AIIMS.

The theme, as declared by the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, was “Sadak Suraksha – Jeevan Raksha”.

The week-long awareness and education outreach on road safety and best practices in road behaviour included a series of engaging activities:

  • Driver sensitisation
  • Eye check-up camp for drivers and truckers
  • Public outreach and awareness at DLF CyberHub in Gurugram on road safety
  • Sensitisation of the youth to first-responder training
  • Training of internal ABI employees on rules and methods of safe driving

The role of DLF Foundation in the program was facilitation and funding with an active working group present.

This was the first outreach wherein all the partners of the Safer Roads For Gurugram working group joined hands to create mass awareness and align with the government’s agenda to reduce road fatalities in the country.
