The UPSC Civil Services Examination is among India’s most competitive and aspirational exams, opening the doors to the Indian Administrative Service, the Indian Police Service, the Indian Foreign Service, and more. Aspirants from across the country, including rural youth, appear for these exams. However, with most coaching centres concentrated in cities, rural aspirants are often forced to relocate for coaching and mentorship. High urban living expenses and limited support systems push aside many capable and deserving candidates who are financially challenged.
In collaboration with the Atulya Foundation, DLF QEC Educational Charitable Trust supported Grameen Yuva Kendra to empower civil service aspirants from rural and economically disadvantaged backgrounds. The project is providing students with safe, affordable, and well-equipped residential facilities in Delhi. The Kendra offers safe accommodation, common study halls, library space, Wi-Fi, and digital learning resources. Students also receive structured counselling and mentorship from senior and retired bureaucrats, who shared practical insights from their years in public service, helping groom them for interviews.
The project supported 132 students, of whom 14 have made it to the merit list for the UPSC Civil Services Examination (CSE) 2025, having cleared the competitive exams and interview, and will join the service soon.

Limited access to education, skills, and employment continues to hinder participation in India’s workforce, especially those from socially and economically vulnerable backgrounds. The WISE Programme (Women in Sustainable Employment), implemented by VISAN Foundation, equipped women from vulnerable backgrounds with training in industry-relevant healthcare and IT skills.
The 2.5-month General Duty Assistant (GDA) training equipped trainees with essential patient care skills, including anatomy, physiology, hospital protocols, core patient care, and paramedic functions such as monitoring vital signs, first aid, CPR, digital record-keeping, among others. By providing access to dignified work opportunities, the WISE Initiative helped families secure a better future. The first batch supported 41 women from low-income families, of which 20 have completed the training and successfully gained employment in Fortis Hospital, Max Hospital, among others.
